Summer Abroad Programs
Study law in one of our ABA-approved summer abroad programs and earn up to six law school credits. Open to students from any law school, our summer study abroad programs provide an interdisciplinary “crash course” of international and transnational issues. Choose to participate in any of our abroad programs below to learn from international law experts, network with practitioners abroad, visit international legal and government sites, and gain a well-informed new perspective on international law and global issues.
NON-CREDIT SEEKING APPLICANTS:
AUWCL's summer abroad law programs offer a Certificate of Completion option for legal practitioners from the US and around the world, as well as for students attending law school outside of the US. The Certificate of Completion option allows students to participate in all aspects of the summer abroad program, however they are NOT eligible for financial aid. See the Non-Credit Participant section in each program for more information. Please email wclabroad@wcl.amerian.edu if this is the option you wish to pursue.

The Summer in Europe Program courses provide students with the unique opportunity to add an international perspective on their legal studies, develop a solid foundation in areas of global importance, and build professional networks. Students can choose to concentrate in one of several tracks, including: International Business and Regulatory Law (London/Brussels), International Trade and IP Law (Geneva), and International Human Rights Law (Geneva). All courses are two-weeks long and provide three credits. Students have the option of combining up to two programs for a broader, more comprehensive summer abroad experience.

The Hague The summer program in The Hague – offered by WCL in collaboration with T.M.C. Asser Institute, one of the most prominent institutes of international law in Europe – gives participants an opportunity to study some of the most important legal issues today in the heart of the international justice community. The program's courses include International Criminal Law and International Legal Approaches to Terrorism with site visits to the International Court of Justice, the International Criminal Court, and the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia.
