Program Description:
***IN LIGHT OF THE SITUATION SURROUNDING COVID-19, AMERICAN UNIVERSITY WASHINGTON COLLEGE OF LAW HAS DECIDED TO SUSPEND OUR SUMMER LAW PROGRAM IN THE HAGUE FOR SUMMER 2020. HOWEVER, WCL IS LOOKING INTO THE POSSIBILITY OF OFFERING THE PROGRAM COURSES (INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL LAW AND INTERNATIONAL LEGAL APPROACHES TO TERRORISM) AS DC-BASED AND/OR ONLINE COURSES IN CONJUNCTION WITH OUR HAGUE-BASED PARTNER, THE T.M.C. ASSER INSTITUTE. MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THOSE COURSES IS FORTHCOMING. WE WILL BE IN TOUCH WITH STUDENTS INTERESTED IN THIS ALTERNATIVE REGARDING FEES AND SEAT DEPOSITS SHORTLY. FOR ALL OTHERS, THE PROGRAM WILL REFUND ALL FEES AND SEAT DEPOSITS. ***

The summer program in The Hague – offered by WCL in collaboration with T.M.C. Asser Institute, one of the most prominent institutes of international law in Europe – gives participants an opportunity to study some of the most important legal issues today in the heart of the international justice community. The program's courses include International Criminal Law and International Legal Approaches to Terrorism with site visits to the International Court of Justice, the International Criminal Court, and the UN Mechanism for International Criminal Tribunals.
