Semester Exchange Programs
The need for international lawyers is on the rise, and so are international legal jobs. American University Washington College of Law provides students with unique international law opportunities abroad, including through semester exchange programs with our many partner institutions around the world. These programs offer students a global perspective of legal studies and provide first-hand insights into international law. Students learn about the law as well as how to interact with global and transnational actors. Not only are students immersed in different classroom settings and cultures, but these programs also provide students with the opportunity to develop and strengthen foreign language skills.
Through AUWCL's robust semester abroad opportunities, students have the ability to focus on different areas of law such as arbitration, business law, intellectual property, human rights, international trade, European Union law, environmental law, and more. Students participating in a semester exchange program through AUWCL can expect to gain exposure to international legal studies, expand their global networks, increase marketability, and gain invaluable experiences.
Students may participate in a semester exchange program only during their 3L fall semester.
