The need for international lawyers is on the rise and so are international legal jobs. The American University Washington College of Law provides students with unique educational opportunities and offers legal semester exchange programs in 16 countries, spanning four continents. These programs offer students a global perspective of the legal profession. Students are immersed in different cultures and the programs allow students to develop the language skills required to be effective lawyers at home and abroad. Students learn about the law as well as how to interact with global and transnational actors.
The law school's semester exchange programs also lets students focus on different areas of law such as Arbitration, Business, Intellectual Property, Human Rights, International Trade, European Union Law, and Environmental Law. Global networks are created or expanded, the student's marketability increases, and invaluable experiences are gained.
