AlertTraveler is a mobile application that utilizes GPS and your program itinerary to provide you with country and city intelligence to help you make informed decisions while traveling, provide you with safety and security alerts to let you know of any events that could potentially impact your travel or safety, and an instant check-in option allowing you to report your status back to administrators and travel advisors at your institution in case of an incident. If you are participating in a short-term, ad hoc trip through WCL, please register your travel here (WCL Abroad summer, semester, or dual degree program applicants DO NOT need to do this):
You will receive an email once you have completed the above survey and are successfully registered in the AlertTraveler system. After you are registered, please download and sign up for the app.

To begin using the app:
1) Login to your account at abroad.wcl.american.edu and scroll down below your applications to find the “AlertTraveler Registration” panel.
2) Enter your US mobile number, and click “Generate.” A password will be sent to your email.
3) Install the app on your phone: go to the Apple App or Google Play store and download AlertTraveler. Allow all access permissions requested.
4) Open the email you generated in Step 2. There should be a link for the password in your email. Click on the link, and it will log you in to the AlertTraveler app you installed in Step 3.
